Little Barn Preschool offers a unique educational experience to children two to five years old. Located on five acres of land, our school allows students to immerse themselves in gardening and to create loving relationships with our farm animals. Our discovery-centered curriculum encourages independent learning through hands-on, age appropriate lessons. We focus on teaching fundamental skills in a supportive, cozy, home-like space where students feel connected to the farm surroundings. Above all, we value the child and recognize that each learning experience is special and unique.
The Little Barn Philosophy
Little Barn Preschool is a unique preschool that incorporates a combination of educational philosophies to create a unique community for students. For most of the day, the teachers act as a guide to help students explore hands-on activities at their own pace. Children are encouraged to be independent by picking up after themselves, learning to cook and prepare occasional snacks as well as caring for the many animals and crops. Students learn by making real-world connections through the many educational themes offered through our curriculum. Little Barn also focuses on self-sufficiency by teaching students how to grow their own food and learn how to care for the farm animals. We are proud to offer a home-like atmosphere along with a dependable routine to ensure students thrive a compassionate and loving atmosphere.

Our Curriculum
Focusing on the student experience
Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for kindergarten by focusing on hands-on engagement in alignment with Montana's early learning standards. Students will be introduced to the basics of numbers, the alphabet, color recognition, emotional intelligence, space and geography. Our school also fosters independence and responsibility by guiding students to grow plants and care for the animals that live on property.
